I was waxing nostalgic the other night, and happened upon this site. I noticed that you had a lot of postings, so I thought I’d write. I worked for Reddy Kilowatt in NYC in the early 70′s, and actually replaced the artist who had drawn him for about 30 years, a guy named Charlie Bader. Ash Collins Sr., who everyone called “senior” was there every day, a small, seemingly fragile man. His son, Ash Jr. was at the helm. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize how iconic the image would become, or I would have kept some of the art (all done with pen and ink). I left after about a year and a half, as drawing the same thing over and over didn’t appeal to me. Just thought I’d give you a little piece of history.
